Before you decide to embark on any type of diet, exercise, or wellness program that you may feel will help you to control, or manage your diabetes better, please consult your doctor and diabetes medical team.

There are many factors that must be taken into consideration that only your medical team can determine.
A medical exam will be necessary, the method that you are considering should be discussed, the pros and cons weighed, as well as safety and precautions discussed.

The final decision is yours; consider giving yourself a 3,6 or 9 month trial period.

Document your experiences, (both good and bad) for future reference and discussions with your doctor.

Give it your all, but never, ever give up.

Yes, I do agree. I do also say that you can confront your doctor on his or her thinking many times as well. Sometimes we want to believe they are considering all the venues, when in truth, they are just giving you a generic solution that is for "all diabetics". We have to remind them that we are not like all diabetics and that we have different needs. Most of them are willing to bend if you show that you are committed to recording your results so you can share them with them next time.

They do get paid the big bucks, but they don't know everything. Never be afraid to coax your doctors to think outside of the box.

I agree with stating a case to your doctor.
My suggestion is that you do your research so that you can argue the point without walking into the dark blindly.
Most people make decisions based on the opinions, and the claims of others, instead of weighing both the pros and cons.
