My vascular doctor, said to let him know what my quality of life is greatly affected by my PAD. He said that they could try and open the artery of place a stent in it. Anyone been thru this?

Hi swanslake54 - I have 4 stents in 3 of the major arteries and had angeoplasty on the other. I have taken meds. every day since I had them put in. They have been done between 5 and 7 years ago. I have a heart cath. done every other year just to check the stents. So far so good. I went about it the hard way, I had a major heart attack 7 years ago. But have been doing fine since. Just had a heart cath. done in March with no problems. Any questions let me know.
Good Luck
Denny

Hey Lenny, wishing you a wonderfully blessed day. Do you have PAD too, if so did the procedures help with the pain? I'm an out door person and I love to attend outside concerts, flea markets, football games etc. I can only walk a short distance
and it has definitely had an effect on the things I like to do with my family.

Hey - I do and it has made a world of difference. Before I had a lot of pain in the chest, legs and arms. But now things are a lot better. I also spend a lot of time outside. I try to swim every chance I get. Walking has gotten a lot better, I do have to pace myself because I also have COPD which slows me down some. After my heart attack exercise became my best friend. The more I did the better it got, and it got easier as time went on. I know everybodies different, but it made a difference for me.

Good Morning - Unfortunatly I have to say yes. I shouldn't say a hard time, but maybe a little slower than most people. I usually tried to have the heart cath and stents done on a Thursday or Friday and that way I was back to work on Monday. I just had to slow down for a couple of days and then go back to normal. The only time I really had to take time to heal was after the heart attack, I was off work for 2 months. But a year later when I had my 4th stent put in I was only down for a couple of days. With a lot of prayer and family thing will always work out. Let me know how your doing.

Thank you so much, you have been a great help. I'm scheduled for another ultrasound 11/30. iI'm not so bad where I'm taking something for the pain, it usually subsides as soon as I sit but I know its going to get worst. Again thank you so much. God bless.
