Today I get to have a Brag Fest. I have met a few goals. I am no longer considered obese. I am overweight. Since January I have lost 56 lbs. Two weeks ago my Family Practicioner was very happy I had lost 22 lbs since my check up 3 months earlier. The 2nd met goal was walking 2.5 miles, which I have done 3 times snce last Friday. Without the vein ablations done on both legs I would not have met the 2nd goal. Plus the surgeries lowered my BP so I will not have to go on BP meds. The 3rd goal of a good A1c I don't know if I met it or not. There was a problem with the office test and so I had to have a 2nd one done. The Docter said he would call and hasn't yet.

That is awesome. Can you you give any tips on the weight loss?

Thanks. I am still walking. Managed to get a job on 4/12. Get to walk a bit there. So my exercise program gets me paid. Walking has usually been the best way for me to get rid of weight. Plus I am still counting the carbs. I think I have lost only 10 more pounds since last October.

I'm going to use your tip and start walking daily again. My problem is not only finding the time but then sticking with it. Again, congratulations on your weight loss.

Congrats. Other than walking, how did you do it?

I have managed, so far this year, to follow the carb counting that the dietician at the hosp. briefly explained to me in January. Between cutting down on carbs and the metformin I have been losing weight. It has only been since the end of August that I have been able to start really being active again.

Alright! That is great news, and we all can use that from time to time. It is great to see how you have taken it on one step at a time and made choices that got you to your goal. Weight loss, no meds, and good exercise...that is all worth bragging about. Congratulations!

I still am on metformin 500 twice a day, but I'm hoping after the dust settles from the 3 surgeries and the colonoscopy maybe soon I'll get it cut out. But I am so releaved that I only have 1 pill to worry about side effects from. One more happy thing my husband got a permanent job, his temp ended in late July. He is on his last two weeks of the four training weeks. A few more rocks in the road to go and maybe stress level will be down and so will BG.
