i know this has absolutely nothing to do with diabetes, but i have a question that i would love to pose to the community. what are your favorite things about the beginning of another fall? i love that we are finally having some pleasant weather, again. summer's are miserable here in the south. i love feeling the little bit of chilll in the air each morning. i can't wait to begin stocking the pantry with the makings of 'cold weather comfort food'…chili, vegetable soup, beef stew. oh happy, happy, joy, joy. lol. but, by far, i think my favorite thing about fall, is the sound of crunching through all the acorns…i'll wonder from my intended path just so i can walk through the biggest pile of of 'em…ain't i a weird one? ;)

HI! Fall is also my favorite season. I like the cooler weather, and I like that everybody is getting serious and motivated again after laying low and avoiding the heat and humidity all summer. Labor Day is my New Year's Day!

You are NOT weird. You paint a scene from childhood. All that was needed for late fall was the kids going door to door in their costumes yelling trick or treat.
Thank you for the memory.

oh, the trick or treating. i'm 39 and up until 3 years ago i was dressing up myself every year to take my kids, nieces and nephews out. lol. the more outlandish the better. i guess i passed that tradition along. my baby…who is 16 now…dresses up and goes with my sister and her kiddies.

I miss dressing up. I did up until 2 years ago. (I'm 53) It is just too much bother and costly to do it. can't afford candy this year. I asked a friend to take some photos while back east.
Hope they work.

I enjoy the crisp air, the leaves turning colors and falling. Getting the house ready
for the winter months. Its in the low 40's here at night. I live in Wisconsin.

the nights have been chilly here, too…in tn. i think autumn is my favorite season. i love spring, also, but there's just something about sept and oct that is calming.

I love the colors as well I live in the country so when you see the trees on the hills starting to change it is so beautiful! I also love that my birthday is in oct. :] And decorating my house for Halloween and Thanksgiving :] I believe fall is my favorite season

we used to have so many beautiful and colorful leaves but it seems like it gets too chilly too fast and most of the trees go straight to brown. we still have the occasional awesome burst of color. this year we plan on taking a trip to southern ill. to visit The Garden of the Gods. i talked to someone in tourism there and he said the trees usually change the 2nd or 3rd week of oct. anyone who lives close to TGOG and enjoys nature and easy hikes should visit there at least once. it is a sight to behold. there is a small town nearby called cave-in rock. there is a cave there, on the river, and the history of pirates and such hiding there is pretty cool. the roof of the cave is wayyyyy on up there, but there are names and dates going back to the 1800's carved into it…i don't know if it still floods, but i'd love to add my own name.

I like seeing all the different colors in the leaves. I LOVE the cooler weather; it makes it easier to walk outside with out having to wipe sweat off you face and neck. Also because my birthday falls within the first week of October.

i love the cooler days!! it's so hot here through the summer that we have to keep the a/c running all day and night. but now i can open all the windows and let the cool breeze blow through. saves a ton on the electric bills!!

i have to admit, i don't care for the snow. mostly because we live at the bottom of a hill (with a deep gully on each side) and when it snows most of the neighborhood can't get out. and i'm the worst when it comes to driving on it even on a straight flat road. my husband laughs and says i'm going to be the one to cause a wreck because i'm too cautious and in everyone's way.
