Anyone ever hear of it? I saw my Endo today and he wants to talk to me about it when I go back in 3 weeks. This was my 1st visit to him since being diagnosed. I have already lost 22 lbs and my numbers are doing great he said. I have to have my blood tested before I see him again. But I was wondering if anyone has ever heard or tried this shot. Thanks..

Hi. Wow that is great for her. I don't know what the shot is yet, he wants me to have my BS checked again then see him in 3 weeks. I am on oral meds no insulin tho.

My doctor had me on Victoza and it make me very sick. After a week she has now put me on Januvia. But I have heard that other people have good experiences with Victoza - we are all just different internally.

I am on victoza an injection that is a protein and it has helped my lose weight = one side effect is stomach discomfort but it went away after the 1st week - I know several peopl on this medication longer than me and have lost weight.

Did your Endo tell you a name? I can think of 2 antidiabetic meds given by injection but are not insulin.

No he did not. He said we will talk more about it when I see him in 3 weeks.

Well THAT'S really helpful of him. How does he expect you to understand what he's proposes and make an informed decision on it?

Unless I am WAY off base, (I don't know about all the newer injectables) He may be suggesting either Byetta, or Victoza. You could go to webMD and search for each of those meds in the drugs section.

Thank you Jaybee. I will. I know I should have gotten more info but wasn't really thinking at the time. I was so nervous.

Do/did you have a list of questions for the Dr? Actually, what I like to do is the day or two before the appt, is write my questions on a word processing program. Just before I leave the house I print out 2 copies. I for me, 1 for Doc. and I write notes on my copy as Doc answers my questions. That way I have a reminder what was discussed and what the results were. I have found that reduces the nerves.

No not really. I know I should have tho. I did have some in my head and was able to ask him those. But I do have a whole lot more. My 21 yr old son was with me so that helped a great deal. But I will do this before I see him next time, Thank you.
