Hi Everyone.

I noticed on my blood pressure medication (Captopril 12.5mg twice daily) it says to take it on an empty stomach one hour before or two hours after eating.

Was wondering if anyone knows whether that will effect the effectiveness of the medication if you do take it with food? Most of my other meds are "take with food" type medications, so sometimes I forget and take this at the same time. But if it's a big deal, I'll be more careful!

Thanks in advance for any insight!

There is always a reason for the dose instructions. I take one med that is on an empty stomach with a full glass of water because it works best that way. I have others that I have to take 30 minutes before eating. I used to take them at my meal time, but I find they do a much better job when I take them as directed.
