First I want to say "Thank you" to everyone who has said such wonderfull and supportive things to me. The past 2 days, I have stressed to the max and have found myself trying to find comfort in all my favorite carbs. Frustration has consumed me and now I have taken 2 steps backwards and now have to make my way back to where I was at.

I hope that after seeing the doctor next Thursday, I will have a better understanding of what I need to do. I just wished I could make this go away. My family is absolutely no help and my insurance company due to the most recent events in the white house have become horsey about claims, and now we are doomed to the high cost of our insurance because of my diabetes.

I am overwhelmed to say the least. What I would not give to go purchase a birthday cake and eat it with a spoon!!!

I sure feel for you and can identify but just remember, when you get the BS straightened out and you are doing much better, you can have a piece of cake at times. A small piece, but you don't have to give up everything you love. I sure don't. I would never have lost all the weight I did, if I did not treat myself regularly, like at least once a week or so. It is different for different people, some can get away with a little more, some things spike one person's BS much higher than another's and all in finding out what and how much we can eat. But once that is done, it is much easier. I remember how overwhelmed I felt at first. Best of luck to you!

Eat that cake with a straw and you will get worn out before you do too much damage. LOL!

I am sorry that you are facing such stresses and I totally get the comfort of carbs. Not sure why they are that way, but they sure do help emotionally, unfortunately, not physically.

What helps me when I get that way is to keep busy, busy, busy. If I slow down and just veg out...I carb out. Give that a try. Distraction is very handy.

Not being able to indulge in carb laden comfort foods when stressed has been the single most difficult hing for me in this very stressfull year. And my mom is know by many as The Cake Lady and almost always has at least a birthday cupcake lurking in her freezer. Hope you can hang in there until Thurs and beyond.
