I was told that if I lost some weight that it would help my diabetes tremendously, so thats what I have begun to do, I have lost 37 pounds so far and my blood sugar has gone crazy , highs and lows all the time, I was told that when you lose weight that some of the gases in your blood called p.o.p.s. were released and it can cause all kinds of trouble, has any one ever experianced this before?

Weight loss does help with your whole lipid panel. While you body is adjusting there might be issues as to why it is so up and down. I know my weight loss helped a lot, and in turn, when I gained some back, I saw an up creep in some of my lipids. So back on track to loose again. I have a long way to go, but as long as I keep loosing a little at a time, I am very happy and so is my doctor.

Now the POP's I have never heard of. That sounds kind of creepy.

I dont' have much to add from experience but I am going to give you two thumbs up for the weight loss, caring for yourself, and for joining our website community. Wow 37 lbs is definately something to cheer (and brag) about. Keep up the good work and keep us posted.

Hi Sugar Plum nice to meet you. I had never heard of this before, let alone had any of its affects hit me. So I went searching to find out what it was. I did find Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) and from what I have read it seems that they do in fact harbor in fat cells but you must come in contact with the POPs first. If I understand it right it is a pesticide and it can be carried far away from the originating site by way of animals and even from evaporation and redistributed in rain. So if I understand it all correctly it is only dangerous to lose the weight if you have been exposed.

If anyone knows of it being different please jump in and let us know…like I said my info comes from reading some different sites and until today I had never heard of it.
