Many of us know something about "most" things.

But what about "us" ?

How much do we truly know about ourselves "health wise" ?

Do you know the basics of your health and well being such as:

What are your allergies to medications (if any)?
What is your blood type?
Do you have medical contact information in case of an emergency?

There are many more questions that can be added to this list, what's important is this, "How much do you know about you?"

Take the time to ask your physicians for this very important information and document it, make it a part of your personal "life" file.

It just may save your life one day!

This past year I have been learning a whole lot about my health, some good, s lot not so much. Since genes play such a large role in what your body does, I have been sharing with my family and as a whole we are benefiting from each other. When I learned I had inherited my Dad's bad veins I made sure to tell the Vascular Surgeon about the mutant gene that caused Dad to form many blood clots. He responded so fast and was so glad to have a heads up I was glad my Dad had shared that info. Luckily I don't have that gene but not so lucky with getting others. Knowing can save your lif or at least prevent complications. Dad's colon cancer was caught after it had caused damage, mine was caught at the pre-cancerous stage, can't begin to describe the relief I fill from that. I wish I had been able to pick more genes from my healthy Mom!!
