I'm 22yrs old, and I lost my job because of some mood swings and attitude that came from out of no where. And I couldn't control them. I've never felt this way I loved my job and being in the Marines, but I couldn't understand what was going on. So when they put me out I thought maybe it was the job stressing me out, but I was still snapping on everyone about nothing. So a couple of mon. after getting out I went to the Dr. and they said that I' a diabetic type 1 0r 2 I ran out and never went back. Now I need help. And I can't get any from VA, or gov. Assistant. Can anyone help with advice on getting help with no medical ins.?

Why won't the VA help? Once a Marine always a Marine.

I am uninsured also and I go to a clinic I found through asking my hospital for free programs or low income programs. My clinic charges on a sliding scale and I pay according to my income. So start there.

I would do this as soon as possible as if you are not sure if you are type 1 or 2. Type 1 is nothing to play with so make sure you get in to have the tests done. They may suspect type 1 because of your age. Go back and get copies of the tests your last visit to the VA and take those to your clinic doctor.

Getting your levels under control can help with the mood swings too, so that would be good and maybe you could get your job back.

Find the free clinic in your area. Most places have one. Or call your local hospital they may be helpful. You really need to see a doctor and go from there.

Well first you have to be diagnosed I believe but if you think that you have diabetes you can contact the ADA (American Diabetes Association) and see if they can help, becaus eif you are type 1 like I am you need your insulin to live! so good luck and I hope this helps at leat a little. But for now eat little carbs, exercise and hopefully you can feel ok without serious consequences.
