I read recently that chronic low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) can make you crave alcohol because it is a simple sugar.

Why does alcohol make you drop? I thought the carbs would make you go high.

The human body is not capable of processing alcohol removal and maintaining a proper (?) glucose level at the same time so the alcohol processing takes top priority!

I think its something like your liver is working to filter the alcohol, and won't release glucose at the same time. So if you are drinking without eating over an extended time, or taking meds that take the glucose out of your bloodstream, then you can easily go low. Best to eat something while you are drinking.

Alcohol can make you drop low, so be careful. The fact that you "can't stop" is a little concerning though. What do you mean by that?

It depends on what you mean by "can't stop drinking." A drink or two each night is a lot different to drinking throughout the whole day, every day.
