Gout treatment?

I was told that I have Gout in my feet and was prescribed Prednisone. I can't take the Prednisone for more than a cpl of days. I just can't stand the way it makes me feel. It hypes me up and makes me extremely irritable. I plan to discuss this with my doc when I go back next week but in the meantime…does anyone have any "home" remedies that have helped ease the pain? Foot massages relieve the pain for awhile although not completely. I've tried soaking my feet, heat pad, and over the counter pain meds. None of these offer much relief. I am sooooo tired of hurting and not being able to walk comfortably. I can't sleep well either due to the pain.

This "new" pain is different from the tingling burning pain from neuropathy.

Any suggestions?

Howdy Janet
I have never had gout, but younger brother (also DMt2) did. He said very painful.

Since I've not had it I know of no remedies so I searched for Gout Remedies.

Here's a link to one of the results: http://www.home-remedies-for-you.com/remedy/G... (you may need to scroll down the page a bit to get to the remedies)

hope you find something that works.

blessings to you and yours!
