It seems the harder I try to follow my diet my sugar is still in the 250 range and i take alot of meformin 1500mg once a day and my wife cook health meals and i dont want to start the insulin shots ???????

Insulin is a great for keep your blood sugar in control. Taking insulin does not mean you have failed anything dont be afraid of insuliin. i would check with your doctor on way your BS is still high.

1500mg is really the general lowest dose where clinically significant results start to be shown, 2000-2500mg doses are quite common. However, could you define "healthy meals?" Very often what people think is healthy is very unhealthy for blood sugar, fruit and whole grains for example.
