My eleven year old son has been watching me care for my diabetes. He watches me check my blood four times a day and he watches me load and administer my shots of insulin. He watches me look through cookbooks to find something "good" I am able to eat. Finally he came up to me and said " MOM DIABETES IS A PAIN IN THE BUTT ISN'T IT"? I said yes son, it sure can be a pain in the butt sometimes! I think that's a great description don't you? Only out of the mouths of babes!

I have an 8 yo grand daughter that drops whatever shes doing when i check my blood so she can come and watch. I let her stick me and use the meter. Shes as ggod at is as I am. When she cant come over i call her on the phone and talk while Im doing it, sometimes send pics on the cell phone. Some day when I might need some help shell know exactly what she has to do. She also keeps a journal of what times I do it and what the numbers are. GOD bless the kids

I love children because they have such bold ways of speaking what's on their minds. That is just too cute, Realsis, too cute.

How does he feel about giving you an insulin shoot? and give you a finger stick before that? I wonder what his face will be like when he is told 'don't screw up, or you will lose mommy..'

It's even better when they are eating something that you used to LOVE and when you ask for a small bite they look at you and say "You can't have this." I got this from my son while he was eating this really thick crusted piece of pizza.

You know what you can do to get back at him? Eat his favorite candy, then jump on the trendimill for 30-60 minutes, running away from him, if you will…
