I have type 2 Diabetes,, I have had a triple by-pass and an Ileostomy and they all conflict with each other as to a proper diet,I have gone to Dietians and they tend to go with the diabetic diet. But following that diet my Ileostomy has gotten plugged twice, meaning two hospital stays of six or seven days, having just ice chips for five or six days, so my doctor says eat what you can tolerate, anyone have a similar situation? I'm confused

I found some info on caring for your Ileostomy here
http://www.webmd.com/colorectal-cancer/guide/caring-continent-ileostomy
From what I see, if it is fairly new, then maybe some extra care is needed. That sounds like something that fiber would be good for, or more liquid types of foods. I am sorry that you have such a complication, that alone, even without the diabetes must be trying.
Things like dairy and grains or beans can be very hard on the digestive system and those things if they only get to pass through the small intestines they don't get digested very well, so you might ask about those types of foods with your doctor.

In your case with all of your medical conditions I would ask the doctor to be more specific about your meal plan. "Eat what you can tolerate" is a very vague statement! Maybe call the nurse at your doctors office and ask the nurse what she thinks! I wish I had a better answer for you but with all your medical problems I would ask your nurse or doctor to be specific. Best of luck to you!

They keep sending me to Dietians, who all seem to concentrate on the diabetic diet, which in my case is not the right diet.In some parts it is ok, but in others it just does'nt work. Thanks gabby for the info, I belong to a osteo group and they have a lot of foods that are don'ts, that are good for diabetic diet.
