im gonna tell ya..i never thought the day would come!

i had bought a very pretty dress (a couple hundred dollars) on ebay when my husband and i decided wed get married.

unfortunately, i have never been able to wear it. and when we did get married i tossed the idea out for a formal wedding, as we were getting hitched on the way to 6 flags in texas…stopped by the judges room, got married, continued on our journey to celebrate the fact with my son..thought the adventure at 6 flags would be more his taste..lol

well, after ive been on this new diabetic med: JANUMET (mix of januvia and metformin) i thought i might try too seee IF i could put that dress on, ive NEVER been able to wear…

SUCCESS!!! it fits. slightly still snug in the tummy area, but OMG!! I CAN ZIP IT ALL THE WAY UP!!!

i am so pleased with my weight loss success…im stoked!

ill have pics in my profile area…

Michelle you are an inspiration I am getting married Oct 23rd and have had a year long struggle losing 50 pounds, i am at 45 with 6 weeks to go and very proud of myself. Ive lowered my A1C from 9 to 6 and went from 2 insulins and 2 oral anti diabetics to one each, so I know how you feel!!! I cant wait to wear that dress!!!

Hey Michelle, way to go! Now you can your hubby can have a formal picture taken, just to say you did it!

I had that same great victory! I did wear mine on my wedding day, and then I decided to sell it so I got brave and tried it on. It fit better now than it did when we got married! I was able to wear it without the under garment girdle, and that was amazing. I did sell it eventually, but it was so nice to know that I am at least where I was when I got married. Now I just have to keep loosing.

after i have taken those family pics, my intention is to have it altered into a formal dress, about 'tea-length" and perhaps colored a color of my choice…im really not wanting to get rid of it. it has several layers of meaning to me, even as a dress alone without the victory.

i bought it with the last bit of my mothers life insurance, and id hate to let it go.

so, ill find a way too keep her and enjoy her on SPECIAL occasions in my life. :)

Absolutely outstanding success!!! Maybe you guys could have like a pre- wedding anniversary celebration for such a rewarding accomplishment as that. Keep it going Michelle and before you know it, you'll be needing to have alterations done to make it smaller. : )

A big congrats Michelle, that wedding dress look great on you! I noticed on your profile it said you are 'seeking gastric weight loss surgery', are you still going ahead with it or your tossing the idea now? I think the less you weight the less you are qualified for that surgery…I hope you toss it…

still considering it, and it falls within the BMI..im morbidly obese, and at a 44%, the lowest you can be is 40% i have a way to go before i am disqualified at that BMI…im gonna get this surgery no matter what!

omg! i say that all the time to people! youll be blessed when you do as God asks…im a living example of it. when ever i went in an opposite direction, id have a troubled life. walking with God and the trip/journey seems so muc smoother.

i still experience trials, i can just manage them so much better. and actually i thank God for them, as they strengthen me, and forge me into the person hed want me to be!

Michelle… that's just awesome news! I hope you will consider thinking about going to out to eat with hubby or just do something together in which you wear it. Maybe your anniversary? Wouldn't that be cool??? You don't have to explain WHY your wearing a wedding dress and even stupid people won't bother to ask. Do it for you and him like you've been working on your health for the two of you!!!

im gonna have a set of family pics done with it…i have never had a family portait taken and my son is 16…i want it while i can still get it, and our lives change forever…son will grow up, and have his own family..and different pics will be taken then…
ive dreamed of taking the set of images for years. and THATS what im going to do with the hubby to celebrate the fact i can FINALLY fit the dress i bought for our wedding and never got to wear…:)
