I finally got the results of my bloodwork and my a1c is at 8.4 which is up again..the doctor did just change me from lantus to Humulin 70/30 twick a day..but when i called she wasnt there and her partner who i have seen in the past told the secetary to tell me to come back in a month to retest…but that is not covered by insurance so that aint happening

i feel like i have been kicked in the gut i try so hard to eat right, exercise and do what i am suppose to but i also have to manage a house with 3 kids one of whom is bipolar and is homeschooled and a hard working hubby who is diabetic but under control with meds no shots…I just cant seem to figure where i fit in to all this and how to change it

why when i start to feel better about me, bills, the house cleaning and my kids does it come right back and kick me in the teeth

sorry needed to vent

Christina, I know exactly how you feel. I raised 4 kids 2 with special needs and tried to work full time plus balance a home and bills. Sometimes you just want to qiut! I used to run away from home once in a while. I think you need the down time!!! Well, all my kids are grown now, but they still need help from me which is a whole neither subject!!
Was in pretty good control of my bs for a long time. Then I guess I got older and my A1C went up to 13.5. My doctor has me on 2 different insulins 5x a day. I'm seeing big changes and Bs is going down like crazy. The point is that sometimes it's nothing we do, it's our bodys changing.
Good luck to you lady and hang in there, it will get better!!

I know I'm going to sound like a smart-aleck but STRESS is your problem. There is no 'real' way to control/handle the stress in your life, so your sugars will usually be up there.
I had to have somebody arrested and charged with reckless endangerment before she would 'get the point'! It helped that the cop's wife is diabetic.
They scared the stuffing out of her and I haven't seen or heard from her in a couple of months. I pray you don't need to get that drastic.
Do you need to delegate some of the problems? Could you use some help? Say So!! Your family and friends can not hear what you do not say.
I better get off my soap box.

Come on now, look at you with all that on your plate the stress will keep your numbers up. Take time for you even if fifteen minutes, meditate. If you are trying all you can demand the doctor listen to you and explain the ins. issues. They may be able to work something out. Believe me though the stress alone will shoot your numbers way up. I journal what my readings are and I don't worry as much about the A1C because by journaling my times of stress, sickness and what I eat i can tell usually why my numbers went up.

I feel for you .
If I were you I would work on counting carbs and get that down so you can ajust you insulin as you need it
I started to do that and realy got into it I got good at it lol
So good that they gave me a pump so as not to keep giving myself shots all the time.
Dont be so down on your self no matter how hard you work if your not on the meds you need it will not work
Best wishes
