How has being diagnosed as a diabetic, or as a diabetic caregiver, impacted your life on a daily basis?

Since being diagnosed in 1994 I have been in denial for 13 years. I am just now taking it seriously. It is hard on me with the checking, eating right and exercising to do. I am trying to do one thing at a time to get in the habit of doing it. The firsst thing was the testing and now I am working on my eating habits. Next will come the exercising part. I don't exercise like I should because of my balance. But that is one of my goals. That is how hard it is for me.

has your balance been off because of the diabetes? I've noticed that mine has been since becoming a diabetic

I can also relate about the exercise.. I just can't motivate myself enough to do it

Mama D 51,
You made up your mind to deal with your diabetes "Head On," now you can do some of (if not all) of the things that you want to do with your grandchildren, overcoming that first hurdle is always the hardest one, but you have done it, and done it well, congratulations!

Happy day Mama D 51,
To God be the glory I agree w/Mays you took control of your life & let diabetes know who was in control. Be blessed & know that you are favored in the name of Jesus.

Working 4 Jesus, & Loving it.

Exercising is always hard at first, due to the inactivity of such.
Take your time, take everything in a little at a time, and stay focused and positive!
Love yourself and let it show daily!
