This past weekend I spent a fair amount of time in the emergency room of our local hospital. Out of the blue, I developed an allergy to oranges, or citric acid. It is a severe allergy actually. I have to be very careful now not to eat any foods with citric or ascorbic acid. The medication they gave me was Prednizone. Be wary. This will raise your blood glucose levels to extremes. The allergic reaction affected my blood sugar, as did the medication. In turn, this made my reaction worse and it also threw hormones off balance (I am perimenopausal) so the hot flashes and migraines started. All in all, it was a very bad week for me. Thank goodness I am back on the right track. Eating is a challenge for me now. I can only eat turkey, green beans, rice and melon for two weeks. Not enough sugar so now my BG level drops sometimes to below 75. Not good for me. I have to retrain my brain and body to eat in a different way. Wish me luck, pray for me, say chants, what ever it is you do. Thank you.

Aaah Ahsoup, what intricate things these bodies are! I had allergies for years. Was on Prednisone for a few years. Got old..allergies faded away. Think that hormone changes did away with new and different problems to deal with! Good luck hope you level out soon and can add things back into your diet. Theresa

I see I'm not the only one who seems their body is a domino construction that keeps getting that little push that sets it all in motion. Best wishes, good luck and prayers as you try to avoid the nw allergies. 2010-09-04 00:07:31 -0500 Report

Try eating foods for your blood type to zap your allergies because type O's are especially allergic to oranges, hum. What do you think? You can find the books in herb shops mostly and you can google it to find some info too. :)
