Do you always reach for a soda when thirst hits?

You may want to consider some alternatives.

Not only are regular soft drinks full of empty calories, but studies have linked the consumption of both regular and diet soda to an increased risk for heart disease and diabetes.

I like water, but lately I've enjoyed White Cran-Peach and Cran-Grape by Ocean Spray. They come 10 packets to box and they are 0 sugar, 0 carbs and have 20 mgs of potassium. They are delicious.

I gave up soda before I was diagnosed. I've taken to making green iced tea, and regular iced tea. I also drink Sobe 0 calorie, although it has 5 carbs. I use Stevia in the Raw or Truvia in my home made iced tea and it's wonderful. I usually take a thermos when I'm out all day.

This is a great article. I have been using the seltzer and fruit juice a lot more than anything else. I do have a glass of red wine (when not working). There are some good ideas here
