Some lab reports good; some not so good

I went to the doctors again today for a recheck. It seems that my labs got mixed results.

My A1C is a 7.4 (went up .4 from three months ago) so my metformin has been upped to 1000 mg twice a day.

My LDL level went from 170 to 103 (YEAH!!!) in the last three months, so Dr. O is leaving my Lipitor where it was.

My vitamin D is still on the rise and she wants me to continue that.

Oh and now I have to add iron. Seems I am low but not at the anemic state yet.

She also added Celebrix for pain (I have fibro and Arthritis) as needed so I won't keep tearing up my stomach due to aleve.

So, mixed reviews. But not too bad.

Remind me often to take my bs levels. LOL. I have been very laxed about it recently and not tracking foods like I should. Reminders would help.

How about you?

Congrats on the LDL - wish I could get mine that low - working on it tho :)

My numbers are always a bit mixed - just something I've gotten used to

Pain meds — yikes!! (for health concerns see my profle as too much to detail here) I got ulcers some years ago from ibuprofen so know what you mean there. Celebrex never did much for me but know people it has helped - I take a combination of voltarin (2xs day), tramadol and neurontin (both 4xs day - to help with the pain and the neuropathy) - so far I've refused anything stronger (and my doctor is supportive of that decision) so I live with an average daily pain level of about a 3 - 4 and some days as high as 7 - 8 but that too is okay for today (it's better now than it was this time last year - it was an average of about 7 daily then :) so 3 - 4 is great).

I go back to see my doctor in a couple weeks. We'll see what my test results are then :/

good to know. Doc wanted to try the celebrix, as I have never been on it previously and it wouldn't interfer with the cymbalta that I am on. We will see how it works.
