Hi family! I just wanted to post a bit on how much better I am feeling now that I am taking the insulin shots! I'm not as tired I have more energy and I'm not wanting to sleep after meals! This seems to be working out great for me! I want to say to people who are afraid to try insulin, don't be! Its made a big difference in how I feel! If I would have known this earlier I would have got on insulin sooner! As you all know when my doctor told me I needed the insulin I was filled with dread and fear now I know it was really the best choice for me!

Hi Realsis,
Hope you are doing well. Recently I picked up a 'Truetest' meter at Wallgreens. It takes a small amt of blood so it is a very thin needle, which hurts less. The meter fits on the top of the bottle of test strips. I'm not sure if all the stores have it or if the price is the same. I got mine for under $10.00 before tax.
God bless and (((H's))) to you.

Thank you and I'm so glad you found a good meter at a great price! I'm also glad that it doesn't hurt as much to use! :)

Yea!! It is good to hear that people like you are finding that insulin is not a punishment. Doctors use it as a threat and society views it as a failure. Nothing could be farther from the truth. While it can be more complicated to use, it is for sure a healthier way of control. Good to hear it is doing such great things for you!!

Thank you Gabby! Your right, I don't understand why insulin is equal to failure in some peoples eyes. Its really been a God send for me and its far from a failure! Its just a great tool to manage our disease!

Thank you Harlen. Your right I've been pretty lucky and only went really low once! I had a snack and it brought me back to normal so I'm learning to keep a close eye on that and learning what works for me.

That is a great testimonial. So many people fear the unknown and think of medication or insulin as some sort of punishment instead of treatment. Keep us posted on your progress.

Hi Ray, yes I agree I don't understand why people would view insulin that way instead or realizing it just might be the key to keeping there BG levels closer to normal. I think its more of a fear of the unknown it was for me but once I started injecting I realized it really is painless and its quite easy! Also the benefits have been amazing for me! I feel so much better than I've felt in a long time!

I am so happy to hear the insulin is helping you out now. I too was scared at first and thought I did something wrong or it was a bad thing but wasn't. The insulin is doing such wonders for me. Big difference emotionally, physically, and mentally when I was seeing changes being on the insulin. I hope things continue to get better for you with the insulin.

Thank you your right! My biggest fear was is this going to be painful? Honestly it a LOT less painful than pricking my finger for BG testing! I was amazed! No stinging no bruising none of that stuff I was worried about! I can testify that I'm amazed on how easy it actually is! Like yourself its been a God send for me!I don't know what I was so afraid of! :)
