Diabetes Ed: Good News.

Went to see my Diabetes Ed. And this is what she sead. I'm not eating enough in some meals. She also sead that I am loosing wait way to fast. My recommended weight for my build is 170. I weigh 180 now. My carb count is allowed up to 75 per Meal and 18 per snack. I was eating less then 55 to 65 carbs per meal and starving and only 15 per snack. She thanks the reason I am sick in the morning is because my suger is low in the morning. So now I have to test first thing in the morning and after dinner meal. So I only need to test twice rather then 6 times a day for now. Better for me fingers. LOL. Then she asked me what scares me the most about diabetes and well I told her only 2 things and that is going blind and or death. So anyways I can eat alittle more and I only need to poke my finger twice a day.

I am back to lifting wieghts again but I'm not as young as I was when I was in the Army so next time I hit the bench I think I will leave the 250 lbs alone and drop it down to 150 lbs. I feel like I've been hit by a truck right now. Sore sore sore. OUCH!!!!

I'll be honest, that doesn't sound like great advice. Personally I would test more to see what the extra carb is doing to your blood sugar, 75g per meal is a lot for a diabetic and I'm assuming that you will be taking medication to cover the carb.

First things first. yes I take 1000 mg of metformin twice a day. And as far and eating up to 75g of carbs per meal goes I most likely won't due to the fact I will stay at 65g per meal but if I go over a few grams I know I am fine. And checking myself well she sead to do it twice but I will still check after each meal anyways to be on the safe side. Thank you for the advise and willing to take any advise. But just so you know my wieght is way down sense I was first told I have type 2 diabetes. I have been keeping myself on a very strict diet and exsersizing more. I've let myself go in the last couple of years and have always been strong and healthy and knowing now that I have diabetes, Well that has pretty much awakened me and I am back to getting my self healthy again even if it means starving LOL Thanks

I can only dream of eating carbs like that I can only have 65 carbs a day lol
