Hello ya all,
I like to have a couple drinks a couple times a week. Not sure what I can have with being a pre diabetic..Anyone know? Vodka & cranberry is what I like

Spirits, like vodka, whisky, rum, etc, are carb free (not calorie free) so shouldn't raise blood sugar. It's the stuff you mix with them that raises blood sugar. Wine and beer have differing amounts of carb so it's tough to figure out. Alcohol can also lower blood sugar so it's a fine line.

I hear vodka is the best for "low" sugar. Maybe half cranberry and half soda. Luckily "low sugar" is popular now so you can check out Skinny girl stuff (even if you're not a girl) - there are options.

I am not a drinker at all but a nice wine is a good choice but as Harlen said watching the carbs is very important. Dlife had a very good slideshow on carbs and cocktails you can check out.

Thank You betty for that link .I did check it out and I now know why my Grandpa & step dad use to get mad at us kids when we were younger and would go visit them and take my mom & Grandma out drinking with us..they were both diabetics..

As a pre you need to watch the carbs very close no sugar added cranberry will help I like capecod's too
Nothing like a picher on ice sitting on the beach enjoying a sun set

Thank you, I was thinking maybe diet 7-up & Vodka with just a splash of cranberry? Need to find out the next time I drink one if I will like them..Thank You harlen
