Never really got into the habit for breakfast, always left early for work. At 60 it's a little more time for me. I would like to get peoples comments on what are some of the best cereals for breakfast.

I don't do dry cereals anymore because they tend to spike my bg. I do oatmeal though, but it has to be steel cut oats, not the quick cook or instant because they will also spike my sugars due to the thining of the grain and processing. I also can do barley for the same reasons as the steel cut oatmeal, It's the Slow-release carbohydrates such as beta-glucan so both are digested very slowly. Which means I stave off hunger for much longer on less food.

I actually alternate between oatmeal (instant flavored low sugar by Quaker) and cereals like Kix, Cinnamon Life or Multi-grain Cherrios. These have lower total carbs then some of the others. You kind of need to go by your meter and what your prefferences are.
