I went to the doctor yesterday my A1c was 9.2 my cholesterol is 592 and my micro albumin is 87. My doctor is tyring to avoid insulin for as long as possible so I am currently taking Glucophage 500 bid Glipizide 10 bid and Janivia 100mg everyday. She says the mt. dew has got to go but we are such good friends LOL. Im am searching for something else to drink but nothing taste as good. I Know testing before and after is important but my question is should I take my meds before or after I test? If I didn/t eat breakfast could I just replace that meal with like an Atkins bar?Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I tried to do that too it didnt work not even close.
did the skipping meals thing too dint work even made it worse lol
for me cutting the carbs was the only way and I had to give up my pepsi
Booo Hoooo and I will tell you it was hard but now diet pesi if its ice cold I can drink it,and now I dont miss it and havent had one in years.
I drink a lot of water and some flaver mix it helps.
You can restrick your carbs but only somuch and live happy.
I am now on the pump and have a lot more freedom and can eat a lot better.
I wish you the best of luck on not using insulin.
Did you think that maybe if you used insulin to bring it down to a normle level
that the pills mite work better for you?????????
Best wishes

A "good friend" doesn't hurt you! (let the Mountain Dew go.)

You are now armed with all the ammunition needed to survive.
Seriously, you now have a set of numbers to work against, for your benefit.
It's now time to sit down, create a plan of action and put it into effect:

Discouragement, should become Encouragement, the greatest source of Motivation is Failure!
Fight back, with the intent to win, as a diabetic, you are armed for success against diabetes, there is so much information available "Free of Charge," that can be accessed and shared.

We know what to do, all it takes is for us, plain and simple, is this, just do it.
The next move is yours.
