my wife is 31 years old and has type one diabetes. we just got together in nov of last year, and we have discussed the fact that she dosent think she has past 35 to live. The problem is that we are a one income family with 3 children. Bless her heart shes letting me go to school full time and take care of the kids while she works. It's just that we can't afford insulin. At 80 dollars a bottle, e have a hard time. i do what i can to make money even though she says she got it, but i can't stand seeing her bottom out because we're rashining medicine. does neone know of a way to get insulin thats not so expensive? We have no insurance and cant afford it. I'm trying to do an online at home business, and we're really happy, but it hurts me when she hurts, and i kow this does. please help. Im in Goose creek sc

i was without insurance for a year and i heard through my doctor to contact the actual maker of the insulin (Pfizer or whoever) and tell them that you can't afford it. they will give it to you pretty cheap and sometimes free. look on the internet also. there are free or very cheap companies that will help out. contact the ADA also. and another thing if you have a good doctor…dont be afraid to ask for samples. i am the sample queen, i get everything i can from the doctor. i feel for you, went through the same thing.

That is so sad that she thinks she will not live past 35…she is so young..Have you tried to talk to her Dr.? Maybe they have samples…And have your tried any kind of medical assistance through your state? There has got to be some help out there for diabetics with no insurance…My prayers go out to you & your family…
