After a 8 year study the powers that be has proven that diet soda actually raises your A1C, and tends to make you insulin resistant, also it is linked to obesity.this applies to type1 and type 2 diabetics. Sniff sniff … hiccup, my mom put the red alert on my diet Pepsi. I love that soda ! Anyone else read about this conclusion to the diet soda debate>

From the things that i have read and studied, diet soda is just as bad as reg soda. The main differ is the suger alcohol that is used to sweeten the drink. To much of that sweetener is not good for us diabetics. And like RAYT721 said, the lab animals have told us that it causes a lot of health problems.

The real answer is in your body not in the newspaper. I don't think that a lot of anything is good for you, whether diabetic or not. I've switched to diet pop and I'm neither obese nor do I have an out of control BG average. Diet soda has been around since the 1960s. The only harm I see has been done to laboratory animals.
