I want to thank those who started this site. I knew quite a bit about diabetes having had gestational diabetes and taking care of my father for years. But since I joined I have learned so much. Every time I have a question I login and there is answer. I do not feel alone because there are so many here who know what I am going through. They say there is strenght in numbers and this group (no that is not the right word) this family is strong and empowering. I have told so many people I know about the site in hopes to give someone else the same feeling of support I have found here. Thanks everyone you all are very warm and caring people.

Hey Karen,

I just wanted to thank you back. It is SO NICE to hear from folks who really find they are getting great connections and value out of the community we've built.

If I may, I'd like to invite you to check out my new "Living with Diabetes" section (link at left).

Warm regards,

Thanks for the direction to the link for your articles. I'm just beginning to find my way around the site. I just finished reading your articles and related links and ordered your book on the 5 tests to gain a better understanding of them. The articles are pretty down to earth and easy to understand. They would have probably come in useful the 1st week I was diagnosed - now they are mere repetion. It seems like they contain infromation many of the people using the site could benefit from . . . if they chose to read them.

FYI-you may want to check out the typo in "Finding a Doctor – Tip 4 – shouldn't it say go over or cover and not over in line 3?

P.S. After reducing my glipizide from 10 mg 2xdaily to 5 mg 2xs daily Friday pm, Sat am & pm, and Sunday am and getting fantastic bg readings I got adventuresome and eliminated the Sunday pm dose last night. Readings remained fantastic today so I'm eliminating it altogether. Lots of testing throughout the process (before & after every meal and snack) gives me to confidence to think I may be going medication free in a little less than 5 weeks of treatment. Exercise and diet do make a difference. At our last meeting on Friday my doctor told me to experiment with the dosage but I don't think he expected these results!

Thanks again,

I also agree. Although I am new here in just the little time I have been in here they have given me answers to questions here that I would have never knew. Yes thank you to those who created this sight.

Happy day to all,
I agree w/you also the fact that I am not a diabetic Michael (my husband is) it's like before you ask the question the answer is provided for you. I even get answers concerning my high blood pressure & the meds that I take. God is so good as I always say that God is not looking @ the situations that we are in for He is there w/us He looks @ how we react to the situations. I thank God for Jesus my family & for the folks that was obedient to Gods wishes (you know its a praise to God when you obey His word). Thank you Thank you Thank you. Be blessed & know that you all are favored in the name of Jesus.

Working 4 Jesus, & Loving it.
