To avoid an gout attack, I'm suppose to avoid 100% whole wheat… My Giant here in PA just started carrying Arnold Bakery "Sugar Free" Multi-Grain Bread… Its sugar free/high frutose corn free… Only 60 calories and 6 net carb per slice… Gonna try it and see how it affects my bs…

Healthy Life also makes a good one as well. I will have to venture out on this one and try it myself. Thank you!

But avoiding whole wheat, don't you just need to avoid wheat all together? Most breads, even whole grains, have a wheat base. Just wondering??

Evidently according to what the Drs tell me 100% whole wheat causes inflammation in the body… Which in the case of gout, to much can cause a gout attack… So i usually try and go for multi grains bread, pasta, etc. which are a blend of grains not only whole wheat… But to be truth for I do feel so much better when I eliminate gluten altogether… Examples, using brown rice pasta, spelt, etc…

Hey, thanks for the information. I would think many of us are waiting patiently for a formal review on it. I have been eating Pepperidge Farm Deli Flats when I get the bread cravings and happy with the taste and flexibility to use as pizza crusts, for toast and for sandwiches. Please let me/us know your honest opinions and we'll start hounding our grocers to carry it.

I love it and it seems to work for me… Only thing is went to my PA Giant store today and they stopped carrying it and don't think they can get it in… Going to check with another local store this weekend… But isn't that how it always goes, you find something you like and they discontinue it!!!

It is like that for me with food, tv shows and all kinds of things. It's like Murphy's Law and then I think he went on to make Oil Soap. I am afraid to say that I like certain things. I did buy some low carb bread mail order. It was like $5 a loaf and lasted maybe 2-3 days. We will never try that again. It was the worst tasting bread I have ever had. I will give your recommendation a try when I head to the store(s) I have planned for the weekend. I am not a big bread eater lately but even now and then I have dreams with the Pillsbury Dough Boy. No, no, not THOSE dreams!!! :)
