Just curious, if you have a snack before bed, what is it? I sometimes have small apple sliced with peanut butter or a rice cake with peanut butter…Can't seem to get through the night without something…

I have to ask do you skip meals during the day? Well just remember this hunger is stimulated by an absence of food in the digestive tract. Appetite can occur with or without hunger.

I EAT A LOT OF VEGETABLES, TOMATOES LIKE APPLES. MY POISON IS CHEESECAKE. I LOVE THIS SARA LEE FRENCH CHEESECAKE. I DON'T HAVE IT MUCH BUT WHEN I DO I WILL BUY A CAKE JUST FOR ME. IT LASTS UNTIL THE NEXT DAY AND IT'S GONE.

HONESTLY, SOMETIMES I GO INTO DENIAL. I NEED TO TAKE BETTER CARE OF MYSELF. SOMETIMES I JUST GET SO UPSET BECAUSE I FEEL AS THOUGH WHY SHOULD I BE LIMITED TO WHAT I EAT AND HOW DID THIS HAPPEN TO ME? I ALWAYS ATE HEALTHY. SO WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKES. AT TIMES I WILL JUST EAT WHATEVER I WANT. ACTUALLY A LOT OF TIMES. BUT I'M HONESTLY TRYING TO GET IT RIGHT. IT'S HARD.

Having a snack before bed can actually help your morning levels. So if you are not experiencing high morning numbers, then enjoy your bedtime snacks.

I typically will go for a granola bar. But like others have said it depends on what you and your meter like. I am just learning myself. I like the FiberOne bars too.

For me, what your having would not work for me. Fruit has natural sugar, and it's good for you but I've done lots of testing & fruit spikes my blood sugar. Peanut butter has sugar in it. I never looked at the carbs in a rice cake.

Try whole grain snack, I toast arnolds sandwich thins , or eat carrots. The body has to work harder to break down things with high fiber & that is more satisfying.

I keep Canadian bacon on hand…a couple of slices with a a couple of mutligrain saltines curbs the snacking urge…I also keep one or two sandwich bags of raisin bran mixed with a little cinnamon for snacking, I grab one on the go to help curb hunger or when I'm busy at work & lunch is postponed.

I dont think there are any right or wrong answers as long as you stay within your caloric and nutrional guidelines. I may have some low fat cheese sticks or low fat yogurt. I may have a handful of nuts. Sometimes I will have a few slices of lean lunchmeat. It's up to what you and your meter likes.
