How often are Mods in here?

I have seen several posts again lately that are really unacceptable. They generally happen over the weekend where they stay up for a really long time. Is there any mods that check these things daily or nightly? I reccomend this site to friends and the first thing one saw was this offensive post. This is really unfortunate because she doesnt want to return now while I feel this site could really help her out. I also feel this is the same person that posted another discussion earlier this past week. Do mods IP ban? Is that possible?

I missed this one, not that I am sad about that, but I am sad that it didn't get flagged quicker. I know that the staff does it's best to get rid of those. Perhaps we need to look more closely into allowing weekend mods on.

I have a theory why all of a sudden there seems to be a lot more this type of post compared to the last could of years. Of course, it could be completely wrong!

There are many very popular games on Facebook that require purchasing points to get better stuff in the game, but there are various offers that you can do to get 'free' points. One of them that is easy to qualify for, free and gives a pretty good return is by filling in a request for a free meter and signing up for diabetic connect. My theory is a bunch of dumb kids are doing that and the posting junk. If that is the case its a pretty simple process to report them to the company who put the offer out there and have them banned from a) diabetic connect, b) every using the offer company again and c) the Facebook game they were getting the points for. That would teach them! If that is really what's happening.

How come we don't have a button on the discussions to report bad behavior like we don on replys??

Jeannie, there is one, it's the " little red flag" next to the word "track."
Clicking on it opens a complaint comment box for you to file a complaint or report.

I'm so sorry that we didn't get that horrible post down faster. We (myself the other community advocates) are on the site every day.

Thanks so much for your concern for the community. We share your concerns and work very hard to keep the offensive posts off the site.

Thank you.You advocates do such good work. I have only seen a few instances of bad people. Usually you deal with it so promptly. It seems they like to strike late at night.

Since there is a rating system could it be adjusted to autohide a discussion until a Mod gets to it and decides to remove it or not, if enough people thumbs down it? There is a system like this on you tube or yahoo. Just an idea.

Betty we are trying to work on tools that will give the community more control. Thanks so much for your ideas.

Hello John, hope you and yours are well. You know what I'd like to see, a place in my profile where I can collect ideas for food items, supplements etc. Like a sticky note or something-thanks, Erica

It's possible but it's easy to re assign a new ip address, or block the ip address to your router to continue hacking \ harassing others, people (all ages) are real keen at doing this.

The best method available is for everyone to file a complaint and mark comments and discussions as inappropriate immediately upon seeing them, it makes each one of us here at DC, a moderator of sorts. it's just a matter of all of us (friends, technical staff and advocates) protecting our community.
