I ordered some tapes that are awesome. They are dancing exercise DVD's since I really can't walk a lot I decided to try dancing at my pace and then work it up to the DVD's pace. I have lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks. I want to lose 30 lbs because I am 51 and weigh 158 lbs and I would much rather weigh 135 lbs.

If any of you ever played a musical instrument when you were in High school I urge you to get it out, get some new reeds or polish the mouth piece, or get some new sticks (I'm a percussionist) and after getting your "ear" back, join the nearby community band. In the larger urban areas there are many: Portland, Seattle, Medord, and Anchorage all have at least one, and the local community colleges usually have musical performing groups to which anyone can join. Making music with a group makes one feel younger, playing concerts engages a different set of endorphins and activates the brain,and making new friends is fun. Toting around instruments, musical stands, and setting up for practices is also good exercise. And the music our band, The Seattle Civic Band, plays, is traditiona fare with which we are other-wise familiar.

my husband & i go dancing every friday but i don`t need any for weight loss but i do it for diabetes i`m 5'7 & 135 lbs good luck

It is really good you took up dancing. I dont know if you know but dancing is one of the best types of excercise. We need to get into activities that we like in order to sick with them. Like myself Im taking a yoga class and am enjoing it.

What kind of DVD's did you get? Is there a progression to them, so those of us with two left feet could start out and learn some coordination?

Dancing for me is fantastic exercise. When I cannot get outside to walk,I put on music and boogie especially when I am home alone…It works nicely.LOL
