I have a sweet tooth and I LOVE chocolate and ice cream. The only thing better is to combine the two. I have been trying to find something to curb the craving and am failing misserably. Any suggestions?

I have also discovered that Russell Stover makes my all time favorite chocolate candies in sugar free and they are low in carbs too! I love pecan clusters and the sugar free ones from Russell Stover are AMAZING!

I have a terrible sweet tooth, actually many of them! I have found, since being a diabetic, that I really can limit myself! I will eat weight watchers dark raspberry bars (one instead of two), or even a nice mango Italian ice (which isn't diet, but if I'm careful and my levels are good, and I have it with a protein - I'm ok). I am really amazed and proud at they way I have stopped all my sweets. I do find that Atkins bars help once in a while too, as they are very low net carbs.

Just wanted to let you know that I went to the store this evening and was so excited I actually giggled all the way home! I found a fudge bar that has 9g of total carbs per bar! I called my mom (she is diabetic) and told her about them. She had told me to try Klondike bars - the sugar free ones. She said that she LOVES fudge bars and had never seen them before. They are made by Blue Bunny if anyone is interested. They are Sweet Freedom Fudge Lites.

I've found that there are some pretty decent low fat yogurts out there (even chocolate) and sugar free chocolate syrups. Watch the carbs because sugar free doesn't always mean low carb but being diabetic doesn't mean you have to give up things you have certain tastes for. It's about swapping!

Also consider the various tasty chocolate whey protein shake powders out there that are high in protein and taste but low in sugar/carbs. I also enjoy the various chocolate type of Atkins protein bars for a quick breakfast with low net carbs. Explore and you'll find what your meter and taste buds share the like for.

Good nutrition means never having to say you're sorry. Even if you choose to have full sugar and full fat options there's a difference between satisfying your taste for something and going all out crazy with insane portions.

Moderation is the key to control.

Ahh, Love the chocolate whey protein shakes, or the soy ones. I have a hard time eating an early breakfast, so that is what I use, with flaxseed added to it and sometimes yogurt.
