You are such a kind person to do this. I can not afford that much material. But will be looking forward to see the quilts as you post them. I use to make denim quilts. The squares were made from denim paints. I go to the as is Goodwill and buy pants by weight. After I cut out the squares I put on denim pockets and lables. My grandchildren love theres. The little ones like to put their treasures in the pockets. Enjoy your new quilting machine.

Thankyou Joann;
If you would like one of my quilts just let me know and I will send you one of the pratice ones as I am learning how to use the new Machine and Frame as I have never done one like this before. I would be honored to give one to you. I am startng with lap Quilts and pot holders to learn how to use the machine and frame to their most advantagest. After this past month I will be doing alot with the materials I have on hand and any cotton material that I am given. Even old cotton clothes will work wonders for quilts. I have alot of clothe I have notbeen able to wear for along time and will use them for quilts also. LOL

Thank you so much for that offer. I'm in a power wheelchair and a lap quilt would help keep my legs warm. As I'm a polio survivor and my legs are always cold. But
I didn't write to ask you to make me a quilt. Just thought what you are doing for the members of this support group was very nice.
Where are the pictures posted at?

Joanna; they are in my pictures and others are in my profile pics. I had to put them there as I have crossstitched patient names on them and won't post with the others sorry. I hope you like them. Am changing the profile one today and every Sunday from now on. LOL As I have only started to use the Quilt Frame and new Sewing Machine I am makeing Pratice Quilts to get the hang of it first and am giving away the pratice ones to those that don't mind a few mistakes in their quilts. All will be Lap and Crib size to start with. Thankyou for asking about them.

Hey Edie,
Have you done any quilts for anyone here yet? I would love to see a posted picture of them if you have.
I got to work on my design...I really love quilts. Maybe I'll just do a lap quilt. I'm getting to that age where I will be needing one. LOL

No one here has sent me anything to start on so am finishing up some for me and gifts for my family to stay busy. Got my Machine and Frame yesterday and had to change the room around today as couldn't get in the room without crawling under them. LOL Up against one wall it is about 2-3 inches from the other wall. It is set up for King size so I can make quilts from Crib to King without adding the rest of the Frame later.

I'm just finishing up a one-yard-by-one-yard hanging based on the motif of a glucometer. Piecework isn't perfect, but I needed to just *get one done*… Photo of the top in my photos section ( http://www.diabeticconnect.com/users/1189-tma... )

I'm glad your working on something also. It sure helps to block out the pain when it hits.

The design had nothing to do with pain. I was inspired by Children With Diabetes' "Quilt for Life" program. (They hope to use this program to put a face on Type 1 diabetes the same way the AIDS Quilt did/does for those who have died from AIDS.) While I'm Type 2, I (obviously) know a number of Type 1s (from here and my other online diabetes communities), and so the idea of doing a quilt with an obvious "diabetes" theme, fitting the one-square-yard format of the CWD quilt.

I have found four more new Quilt Patterns. They are State Names so far I have Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, and Arkansas. As I find the other state Patterns I'm going to add to my collection of Quilt Patterns. They are not shaped like the states but are nice anyway.

I have several books with patterns in them for different sizes and patterns if you want one between now and Oct. 31,2009 is send me 25 yards of Material and the batting needed for your bed and I'll make the Quilt and send it back no charge for my labor as this is a new machine and Frame that I am learning to use. It gets delivered today sometime and then I can get started from there. The extra Material is being used for Nursing Homes around the Country. If there is one near you just send me the name and Address of it so I can make 20 lap quilts and send them there in your name for charity.

I am starting with Cotton only at first then when I get more comftroble with the machine I'll slowly add other materials if that is ok with everyone. I was told it will take me atleast a year getting the hang of quilting so I decided to go this way. If everyone gets me the materials I have asked for in the top message I will make them in the order I get the Materials in the mail and send the quilts back to each and everyone as they are done. Pictures will be posted in the photo section as they are done for all to see. One quilt per Address please.Even if I end up with more than I can make in a year you have till Oct. 31, 2009 to have your Quilting Package posted to me and I will make the quilts as fast as I can. Please list the pattern you want made on a sheet of paper with your Materials and I'll pin that to the Quilt tops as I complete them so as not to mix them up. Don't forget to put your name and address on it so I can get them mailed out as fast as I can. I also ask that you enclude you Phone Number so If I have Questions I can call you. Thankyou in advance.

Is anyone going to take me up on this here. If so please start soon as I don't want them all to come in at the same time. It will give me something to do as I am almost done with the one for Sue Jones in Alabama my sister. She is paying $150 for a couch throw. and furnished the material for it.
