Diet and exercise. Basically the more you exercise the more sensitive to insulin you will get and the fewer carbs you eat the less insulin your body needs. It's very possible toy not take medal doing this.

There are two main schools of thought on this issue. Most of the time it just starts disagreements between two sides. I am one that believes in natural supplements. I know both type 1 and type 2 diabetics who have lowered and/or eliminated their need for diabetes medications by taking supplements. I also know diabetics that have reversed many of the complications of diabetes by taking supplements. However, it was not an immediate change and you have to take the right supplements. Many things on the market are crap. If they are not high quality you will not get the results you want. The diabetics I know went through several months of taking their prescribed medication and the supplements with a gradual lowering of the meds when consistent low blood sugar numbers warranted it. They worked with their doctors, or at least kept them informed of changes in medications and blood sugar levels.

In the past three months I have gone from taking 25 units of insulin, 45 mg of Actos and 2550 mg of Metformin each day to 10 mcg Byetta 2x day and 1500 mg of Metformin. Of course I take a high quality, patented formula, clinically proven, nutritional supplement. The same one all of my diabetic friends have taken.

There may be supplements to your oral meds but not replacements. I take cinnamon tablets daily and while I don't have concrete proof (a1c) yet, my numbers are manageable. The purpose of the oral meds are to work with your body and glucose levels for control. You may someday get off them completely but do not believe in any snake oil sales pitch. Do the diet and exercise because it works and wait for the doctor go ahead on stopping, challenging or replacing the meds you're on. You can ask for a generic prescription if money is the issue but see the results from being on them rather than the negative results of being off them.

I also take cinnamon pills it helps w/my high blood pressure but I too am like RAYT721 no written proof but just know once I started taking along w/pressure pills sure nuff made a difference. Now as I said before that what may work 4 one may not work for others. One thing about cinnamon pills they want hurt you.

Working 4 Jesus, & Loving it.
