I found that the Kentucky Grilled Chicken I can eat and it doesn’t spike my blood sugar. I found most Chinese Restaurants have a Vegetable delight or something similar and most have some kind of broccoli dish with or without meat. Just throw away the rice or feed it to your spouse or children.

I also eat chicken wings a lot when out. They even come with celery and blue cheese. Most restaurants you can buy beef, chicken or pork and some give a choice of what vegetables you can have. I avoid restaurants that don’t give you a choice. I find the ones that do and eat at them. Most places offer broccoli that I found helps lower my blood sugar.

None of the above foods spike my blood sugar. I only found one Chinese restaurant that I had to stop buying from because there vegetables spiked my blood sugar. But I have eaten at about 15 that didn’t. Just remember to test before and after to make sure the foods aren’t spiking your blood sugar.

Good luck

We are all different, so what worked for me may or may not work for you, look to your meter at what normally raises your bsg. Well I try to avoid the fast food chains as much as possible. When I do go to places like that I try finding the most common sense meal for me, grilled chicken wraps or salads (but becareful with the salads as the lettuce mixure is normally soaked in a sugary preservative)..

At nice resturants we have better options and normally can give our servers special instructions to leave off sauces or place them on the side. Really look at the menu and ask about sauces things are served drenched in. sometimes those can be served on the side, you may also be able to ask the server about preparation of the dish. We do have a Mexican place here that makes a delicious snapper Ceviche, served as an appetizer normally that I end up making a meal out of it, grilled fajitas can be a sensible option. For Italian: I did fine with Chicken Marsala with wheat pasta. Steakhouse: I was fine with a Fillet Mignon steamed veggies and a half sweet potato. I have yet to find a Chinese takeout that is offering brown rice or wheat noodles as an option and most of the dishes are covered with unknown sauces so I will stick to the hot and sour soup.

When I get to eat out, I try for restaurants where I can load up on grilled or steamed veggies and grilled meats. Avoid the potatoes, bread, rice and pasta entrees. Most of the fast food restaurants now offer salads with a grilled chicken option, so I go for those. If I need more carbs, I'll add a yogurt and fruit parfait as they call them up here. Course, I can't eat anything that has been in contact with wheat flour, so it's even easier to avoid the simple carbs now!
