The diabetic educator has finally hit the mark for me. I take 100 units of Lantus 50 in morning and 50 at night. Plus Humalog for each meal starting at 20 plus sliding scale, then I had carb counting to it. Basically I take about 100 units of Humalog a day and I now having normal BG all day long and in the morning. Figured out was that I was being under medicated. However, I gained 18 pounds in the last two months, with thousand calorie a day diet and exccesize, go figure!

I dont know what your asking
I think your asking why is 36 low???
If your blood sugar is that low you can stroke out and die.
85 to 95 is my goal .
I hope this ansers your Q
Best wishes

I have to take 27 units of Levamir at bedtime then in the morning 14 units of Novolog then 8 units of Novolog with lunch and 8 units with dinner plus those 4 times a day I have a sliding scale so if it is 340 at lunch then I take 8+8=16 of the Novolog. Every day I bottom out, so my sugars go from, like today 388 in the AM to 245 at lunch then 2 hours later I am down to 31 and then by dinner it is up in the 400's normally. I am also on prednisone for 5 weeks which is supposed to raise my sugar also.

What insulin do you take?
