Hi, and welcome to DC community. First off you should not change how much insulin you take unless you talk to your doctor. As Lizzylady said you dont want to over do insulin you could crash your BS and go into a coma.

If you are familiar with how much insulin you need per units over you are it is best. You should take extra insulin IF you know how and what type and have discussed it with your doctor. Have you discussed your ratios with your doctor? What type of insulin are you on?You need to be careful that you dont over insulin too. How high are your sugars? Its all a delicate balancing act. Your best bet is to call your doctor before doing anything.
