Maverick Roe is believed to be the youngest person to ever use an insulin pump. He is only 10 days old in this picture.

Do you think that more children should be allowed to wear insulin pumps as a means to control their diabetes ?

Mays, it is very difficult to have good control with a child. That is partially due to the growth cycle and the immaturity of the child, who does not understand what it is all about. The pump can help very much to compensate for these problems and give more stable control. Whether the pump will help also depends on the personality of the child. If the child keeps pulling the infusion set out of place, then it will not work. Some children adapt very well.

I pray for the little guy's sake that somehow his pancreas kicks into gear as the article mentions. That's just too young.
