Cactus Supplement

Hi - Need to question the group mind about using a cactus supplement.

I'm a hi-volume insulin user (as was my father); my "normal" insulin usage (up until now) has been (for an 1800 calorie/day diet) 80 units of lantus and 50-70 units of Humalog (much more of both if I "eat what I want").

I've started taking a cactus supplement that has just knocked my sugars into the ground! Now, for the same 1800 calorie/day diet, I find that my lantus is down around 60 units, and I can go hours and hours without taking any humalog. My humalog dose is now about 1/2 of what it was; I find it much easier to hold to an 1800 calorie regimen.

I can't be the only one to have used this stuff, what does the community say?

LOL Harlen! Great if it works for you. My husband is not on any medications, but we've found that a capsule of CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) keeps his sugars in line. Apparently it helps re-sensitize the cells to insulin. Everybody just has to find what works for them.
