Gabby yes this bible ( Book ) Says that since certain parts of my body is not getting enough energy or FAT it is taking it from other parts of my body in order to survive. ( something like that ) Your suggestion of me maybe having type 1 and not type 2 hmmm might be right. but I also have read a few times that some people that are type 1 experience type 2 diabetic problems. ( Something like that it says ) And yep says go BACK to your doctor and tewll them to re-examine you for what type of diabetis you accually have. Because for some people you can go from type 1 to type 2 and from type 2 to type 1. ( Hmmm.. weird )

Actually it is not uncommon to have a type 2 diagnosis for some type 1's. It still might be type 2, but it is worth having it checked out. We don't want you to disappear.

The symptoms you describe does not sound like symptoms of diabetes. Have you
been tested for cilieac (dson't know if spelling is right.) disease? It is a reaction to
gluten (a protein found is wheat and some other grains). I know lots of people with this disese. It is often misdiagnosed. You can experiment by not eating any grain of
any sort for a whille. Buy gluten free foods and eat them only. Check labels of every food you eat as gluten is often added to foods that don't contain it naturaly.
Gluten free foods are getting easier to find now days. If after a while, say a couple of
weeks if you start feeling better and start putting on weight, than that is very likely
your problem. You may be diabetic as well. But you shouldn't feel rotton all the time and have stomach cramps because you are a diabetic. One of my customers said
his brother died of starvation because his celiac disease was not diagnosed until
an autopsy was performed. I often runs in families.

spunkrose I have been trying to research what you are saying about this disease ( cilieac ) . I have a Doctor's appointment in 2 more weeks. We will see what they say because i will ask her to do further test than what she normally does every 3 months. ( thanks )

MAYS many people say the same thing to me about the weight and tell me to take THEIR weight and give them my weight. ( giggle ) I used to be very active in excerising. ( jog every day , lift weights and boxing and martial arts every day. I was the type that did not have to work out much to get a little mussle here and there. But about year 200 all the way to year 2001 I started getting sick alot , stomach crapms every day and then the lost of weight. I got diagnosed with type 2 diabetis and was told to slow up with the weight lifting and running , because I was passing out of just fall down for no reason. Finally a smart doctor decided to check my Blood and found out that I had diabetis. So now here I am skinny as a toothpick , weaker than a 2 year old infant , smoking like there's a fire in my bedroom and stay depressed for no apparent reason.. At least the stress and depression only come if i am upset for some reason. but I surely would take ANYONE's weight if it was that easy to trade.. LOL

People are all different and our body's metabolism are different also,
that combined with other factors will determine if we gain, or lose weight.
In order to gain weight, you must determine what type of weight you are looking to gain, then eat and exercise accordingly.

You must consume more calories than you need daily in order to gain weight, are you looking for muscular weight or fat weight ?
There is a lot to take into consideration when planning to lose or gain weight, such as calories, empty calories, exercise, nutrition, eating habits,
scheduling and most importantly, your physical health and well being.

Factor in diabetes and everything changes dramatically.
Talk to your doctor or nutritionist if gaining or losing weight is a major issue.
Remember this, there is always someone who wishes to be the size, height or weight that you are !

How are your blood sugars? If you're eating, but still losing weight and thirsty, you're probably eating too many carbs and your blood sugar is too high.

Corynthus 2010-07-18 10:14:34 -0500 Report

Blou I check my BS 3 times a day. I use the Diabetic Bible and get my reciepts from there and also it does sort of try to explain why we gain or lose weight. But mostly it is for people who GAIN weight. I mainly stick to foods with wheat or oats or wry because it is slower to digest and I cannot eat things such as white bread ( We all know this already ) It is also why I joined this group. To find better foods to eat or that may can help me gain my weight back. But yeah my BS is always off every day , even if i do not eat or if i eat the proper foods and drink the proper drinks. ( water water or crystal light drinks. ) Nothing is working I swear. this has been going on for me for over ten years now and I am sick of switching doctors or the doctor sending me to some one else that does not solve my problem. I am still am skinny as a toothpick and still sugar is high every day and sore legs and sick all the time. Sorry but you guys just seem to be different in your problems than me. I dunno why… *sigh* I am still at 30 units in the morning and 30 units at night and if needed take 10 units in between the day if my sugar is too high after taking the morning 30 units. Sometimes it is like the insulin does not work at all. My BS will start to go down after about 30 minutes or so after the shot. I will NOT eat nothing. And if i get hungry during that time i drink water only. ( Do not drink or eat nothing else ) When i eat i eatr in small portions at a time. No this does not make me eat again because it is a small meal. Remember we have to watch out that we do not pig out?? Well that is what I am trying to do. but it does not seem to matter or seem to work. ( Is my body Getting immune to the meds??? ) I can only eat 2 peices of a whole Orange , I can only eat about 4 to 6 grapes and things like that. It's like anything that i try to eat will make my sugar go up anyway. And yes my doctor knows this. No I did not want the pump inserted in me. I got tired of the darn thing pinching me. but maybe I am being stupid by not keeping the auto pump. I am also used to giving myself my injection. ( Sorry but had about 3 past BAD experiences with a nurse giving me my meds. ) even some of those in my family with Diabetis GAIN WEIGHT and eat almost anything they want. but most of them are with type 1 diabetis. the rest that had type 2 diabetis are now all passed away from stroke or Heart attack or from falling down all the darn time. ( My poor grandmother this happened to 2 years ago and never recovered. )

Anyway I just want to try to control my BS better and to stop losing weight.

Have you talked to your doctor about possibly being a type 1 and not a type 2?

Corynthus 2010-07-19 13:13:36 -0500 Report

Gabby no I have not and not thought about that.. Hmmm…

GabbyPA 2010-07-19 19:45:06 -0500 Report

Just that rapid weight loss is often because your body is using the energy of your muscles to survive instead of the glucose in your blood. That is more often (though not always) associated with type 1. I don't know, and maybe it is a stupid question to ask, but you won't know unless you do.
