I know this may sound crazy but I am a nite time eater really bad. I am on a low carb diet. Well if I decide I wanna eat some baked chicken at 2am or anytime in between meals will that affect my sugar or can I have carb free foods anytime. Or should I say protein like hamburger or chicken anytime?

In terms of blood sugar, you can eat pretty much any protein or fat whenever you want and not affect your blood sugar. The considerations come in regarding general nutrition and health goals.

You should really try getting yourself into a good sleep pattern. Sleep deprivation increases your insulin resistance. I occasionally will have a sugar free jello, or if I need a "comfort" food I will mash a quarter sweet potato with cinnamon and coconut oil. I also am experiencing some hypoglicemia in the mornings now due to increased meds so I may have a small piece of cheese with some carrot match sticks. I found that it keeps my fasting levels around 90+ .

Missy… check out protein shakes like Champion Nutrition Pure Whey powder… a few ice cubes, a little water and a whirl in the blender and it's like a milk shake but without a lot of fat, sugar and alot of flavor. Cookies & Creme anyone???

carb free is good but you need to keep the fat inline as well if you wish to drop the lbs
