Metformin&Kidney desease

I was diagnosed with Kidney desease stage 3and found out it was my Metformin it is very hard on the Kidneys most doctors wont tell you that Im wrting this so people will be aware if taking this drug and having problems ask your doctor about it or ask to change medicationsIve only been a Diabetic for 4 yrs and already having problems

There are so many drugs that when coupled with out of control blood sugars will wreck your kidneys and your liver. Lisinopril, which is a blood pressure medication, will wreck your kidneys too. I went in to the hospital several weeks ago with a raging infecton in my left foot, which wound up taking my big toe by amputation, and while I was in there I had my kidney function drop so much I almost went on to dialysis. They dropped the Lisinopril and thankfully my kidney function recovered. keep an informed eye out, but mainly get the blood counts under control and lose weight. It will make a life or death difference, to you and to your organs, eyes, kidneys, heart, liver. etc. Love ya, RC Hodge

Sad truth is, that most Meds are hard on the liver and lots are hard on the kidneys. That why you have to keep going back all the time for blood work whiling taking the meds. I found that once my numbers came down a lot and I made lots of changes to my diet I no longer needed the meds.
