Hi! You could be alergic to the sun. I saw a thing on tv once about people who are alergic to the sun. Try to stay in the shade and cool as much as you can. The previous posts are very good to listen too.

Cool Off !

Welcome to Diabetic Connect !
Seriously, all you can do is try to remain as cool as possible.
Your body is going thru it's natural process of cooling itself off (sweating), and in doing so, your nerves, which are ultra sensitive due to neuropathy, from being diabetic, are just that, sensitive.

Controlling your blood glucose level, trying to relax and stay cool are essential for diabetics during the summer months (heat).

I wish that there was more that I can tell you, maybe someone else can give you more, or other advice pertaining to this discussion.

Your are right - I spent 3 1/2 hours in the heat and sun yesterday afternoon and my arms, face itched the whole time. I know that my blood sugar levels were way out of wack. I hadn't had lunch yet, but was drinking constantly. Once I cooled off ate and drank thing started to calm down.

It could be a few things, sunburn causes some skin to itch, it could also be toxins releasing through your pores. You could also be experiencing Cholinergic urticaria which is a sensitivity to body heat.

Funny you should mention that, I got sunburned Monday and I have been itching like crazy ever since! I have never had a sunburn itch before, at least not until it was healing and peeling.
