It has been hard for me to deal with this diabetes thing but one of the things that keeps me going its my family, my daughters specially I know they need to have a healthy mother or at least the best I can do to be well for them and make a difference in their lives.

my mom told me something right after i had my son a few days ago. she told me in order to be a good mom you have to be good to yourself. through my pregnancy i used my son as motivation and now that hes here, I know that he will be my motivation for the rest of my life. anyways I agree 100% that our children are the best motivation to help us remember why we are doing everything we can to stay healthy. I mean if i had to watch my son grow up with diabetes and not take his meds i would loose my mind, why would i want to do that to him?

A very good point made.
We are all responsible for ourselves, first and foremost.
No one can make us be responsible, we have to want to be.
My (4) four sons lost their mother 12-25-2008.
That leaves me for them and them for me, my motivation is fear, fear of coming up short as a parent, by not doing all that I can do to be there for them.

Whatever your source of motivation, utilize it fully and take care of yourself, managing your glucose level is not easy at times, but in the end, it's well worth it.
