I find this strange, has anyone noticed that when they use lancets they are having marks left on there fingers? When I recieved lancets from one company I not once had a mark, when I recieved them from another company they were there all the time! =(

I used to get this problem and my fingers would get real sore too. I turned down my lancing device to the very lowest I could put it to do my draws. It could also be the type. I know the machine I use (One Touch) there is two different styles. Now whether the insurance company will pay for this. It all depends…

I test 6 or more times a day. I found that if I use the same finger all the time I will see little pin marks. As long as I change fingers daily and use all 8 of them I usually don’t have a problem.

You have me looking at my fingertips but I don't see any marks. I do use the 26 gauge ones from Walgreens and I don't see anything. It could be as mentioned about the gauge size of the lancets. I am gonna change my name to "Sir Lance A Lot" if I test any more frequently.

Different lancets have different gauges, the higher the gauge # the smaller the pin prick left behind (i.e. 31G is smaller than a 30G). Perhaps your last brand of lancets was a higher gauge and therefore you did not see the resulting pin prick. I have also noticed that some store brands are not as "sharp" and cause more damage/pain going in than others. If you are unhappy with the lancets, look into getting a different one. You don't have to use the lancet device that came with your current meter, you can use the current meter with the previous lancing device.
