I did the drug study for victoza then went on byetta after that. The byetta was hard because if you don't take it just right 20 mins b4 your meal it makes you sick. Plus it was a pain to have to carry it with you. Now I take the Victoza and metformin and its so much easier. It works great and I've lost almost 40 lbs on it since august. It costs me $500.00 every 3 months copay with my ins. though but if I can keep losing the weight I might be able to get off diabetis meds all together so I figure its worth it. I've been doin zumba 5 days a week too.

I started using Victoza about two weeks ago. So far so good, no problems noted. I was on byetta before, but that didn't work for me since it has to be injected before meals and I am always on the run. Having to carry it with me was not so great. But once in the morning with Victoza, is great.
Now as for the price, I've heard some people in here say it is too expensive, but my insurance covers it, I only pay 25 bucks. So I really couldn't help you on that.

My insurance is giving me a hard time about covering it! Blue Cross/Blue Shield Ins… has us with CVS Insurance… and CVS says they will cover Victoza… but only if it is in a certain dosage amount in the shot.. BUT.. Victoza does NOT manufactor it for amount CVS requires!… May I ask which Ins. Co. you are with?.. I may attempt to switch ins!

Do you have type 1 or type 2? I have mixed feelings about Victoza. It does seem to work but the cost vs benefit is not in it's favor and the safety of it has not been established very well, there are several safety conditions that the FDA tagged on to it's approval that will be investigated over the next 5-15 years.

I've been on V for about 5 months and I've lost about 25 LBS so far. My A1C has went from 7.9 or so to 6.5. I take Onyglyza tablet and V in the morning and thats all. I eat less and healthier and walk.
