New to Diabetes& new to the computer And quite often I get all stressed out Because I don't know what I am doing, People tell me I have to dounload this and paste that and I have no Idea what they are talking about. Just like I have no idea what a tag is, what does it do? where do you find something that explains it? I find people that know computers, don't have any patience with explaining things. they just sit down an type away.To do what I want to do. then they get up and walk away, and If I ask what they did? I get the LOOK. Like I have two Heads or no head at all. Yesterday I went out and bought a book computers For DummiesBut I should have bought How to relieve stress in dummies while using a computer

Hi Robert,
This is a dummy here who is learning every day. (senior citizen style) lol. I like to play around and teach myself, and that can be fun and give you a sense of pride. Do not get frustrated. Just keep on trying untily ou get it. One step at a time.

Robert, no need to stress :-) Relax, we'll help you through this.

Think of tags kind of like an index in the back of a text book. The index lists keywords that help you find the pages in the big book that talk about the particular subject you're interested in. It keeps you from having to read or sort through the whole book to find what you're looking for.

Tags on a website work the same way. When someone adds a new chicken crock pot recipe for example, they can add the tags "chicken" and "crock pot." Then when someone else is looking for a new chicken recipe, they can click on the "chicken" tag in any recipe and they get an instant list of all the recipes that are tagged with "chicken."

We hope that tags will help us all find the information we're looking for faster.

Hang in there and like kdroberts said, just keep poking around. You won't break anything :-) and before you know it, you'll be a pro.

Well, you managed to find this site, register and post so that's not exactly novice behavior! I wouldn't worry too much about the advanced stuff, do what you need to do and you'll be fine. Nothing to download here, nothing to paste either. Ignore tags, they just help identify things and other people can add them if they think they are needed.

This board is fairly easy to navigate and use, not the easiest I've ever used but not the hardest. Just click around the site and have a look at things, you won't break anything!

I should also add something I tell novice computer users. It's very, very hard for a novice user to cause any damage to a computer that isn't easily fixed. It's the people who think they know things that cause the real problems. If you have questions about things just ask, somebody will know the answer.
