I was just diagnosed with frozen shoulder disease. I need help. I can't do this. I am a very active person and am limited at this time to be able to work or even for that matter play. I had a cortisone shot and am starting therapy, but I am in my 6th month of stage 1.

I had a frozen shoulder several years ago. In fact, both shoulders were effected at different times. One was fixed by therapy. Do all of the therapy that you can. The other shoulder required surgery. Boy did it hurt! My range has improved, but that fully. I did not have any corisone shot, it can raise your Blood sugar level.

What did your doctor say was the cause of your frozen shoulder? Have you had a recent fall that perhaps damaged your rotator cuff? That happened to me a number of years ago (fall). I didn't see a doctor right away, thinking my pain would go away. When it didn't, I went to the doctor. Because I had not used the arm/shoulder over several months due to the pain, I developed a frozen shoulder. I went through physical therapy several times a week for about 8 mos. When I stopped, the pain had gone, but I still did not have full range of motion. I did exercises at home, however, and it eventually got back to normal. It definitely is horrific pain. I feel for you. I took anti-inflamatories too, of course, and had cortisone shots a couple of times. The PT was excruciating, but did do the trick. I went to a sports medicine clinic. They were very good. Hope your treatment goes well and isn't needed for too long.
